Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to provide service to others. In the late 1990s, the leadership in Chi Omega researched opportunities for establishing a national philanthropy, and in 2002, they announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 26 million dollars and has volunteered over 1,200,000 hours for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, they recognize Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors.

Each year, Chi Omega hosts a dodgeball tournament where all sororities and fraternities are invited to compete. All proceeds from this event benefit the Make-A-Wish chapter of Eastern North Carolina.
Make A Wish
Chi Omega is a proud partner of The Make-A-Wish Foundation on a national level. Our chapter has donated over 7,385 hours of service and $144,709.56 to this incredible cause. We are extremely passionate about and lucky to have the opportunity to support a foundation with such an incredible mission: "To grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
As part of our commitment to Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina, our chapter holds various events throughout the year to raise money and awareness for this incredible organization. Wishes that are granted by Make-A-Wish can provide a child and his or her family with hope, strength, and joy as well as the willingness to comply with certain medical treatments.
OVER 500 HOURS OF SERVICE THIS SEMESTER
2007 - present
With proceeds going to Make-A-Wish, we face off sorority vs sorority and fraternity vs fraternity in an all around high-energy competition to crown our annual Dodgeball Champion.
2011 - present
Our members go up against other sororities in a dance competition, riling the crowd and receiving standing ovations, year after year, with proceeds going to the UNC Center of Excellence for Eating Disorders.
IN 2021 OUR
LOOKED A LITTLE DIFFERENT
Since we were unable and participate in our usual in-person philanthropic events, our chapter utilized social media in order to raise money for Make A Wish. Throughout the year chapter members posted "stories" on instagram where family or friends would VENMO small amounts. And in March of 2021, in place of our dodgeball tournament, we hosted a March Madness Bracket Challenge. We even won the 2021 UNC Greek Groove after getting a greatest combined total of likes on tik-toks that our members choreographed and posted.
