PHILANTHROPY
Since 1895, Chi Omega Fraternity members have given their time and talent to provide service to others. In the late 1990s, the leadership in Chi Omega researched opportunities for establishing a national philanthropy, and in 2002, they announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of this alliance, Chi Omega has raised more than 33 million dollars, volunteered over 1.4 million hours, and granted 3,000 wishes for Make-A-Wish. Because of this commitment, they recognize Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion sponsors.

Dodgeball
Each year, Chi Omega hosts a dodgeball tournament where all sororities and fraternities are invited to compete. All proceeds from this event benefit the Make-A-Wish chapter of Eastern North Carolina.
Make A Wish
Chi Omega is a proud partner of The Make-A-Wish Foundation on a national level. Our chapter has donated over 7,385 hours of service and $144,709.56 to this incredible cause. We are extremely passionate about and lucky to have the opportunity to support a foundation with such an incredible mission: "To grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.”
As part of our commitment to Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina, our chapter holds various events throughout the year to raise money and awareness for this incredible organization. Wishes that are granted by Make-A-Wish can provide a child and his or her family with hope, strength, and joy as well as the willingness to comply with certain medical treatments.

IN 2021 OUR
PHILANTHROPY
LOOKED A LITTLE DIFFERENT
Since we were unable and participate in our usual in-person philanthropic events, our chapter utilized social media in order to raise money for Make A Wish. Throughout the year chapter members posted "stories" on instagram where family or friends would VENMO small amounts. And in March of 2021, in place of our dodgeball tournament, we hosted a March Madness Bracket Challenge. We even won the 2021 UNC Greek Groove after getting a greatest combined total of likes on tik-toks that our members choreographed and posted.
